American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Brooklyn peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

This was my first time ordering a custom cake from Mia’s and I couldn’t be more pleased! The ordering process was so simple and the end result is exactly what I had pictured and what the inspiration looked like. Not to mention the cake was delicious ! Everyone loved it and it was perfect. Don’t hesitate to order your special cake with them!!

I worked with the team for gender reveal cupcakes and had the best experience! So responsive, accommodating, and just lovely to interact with. And, the cupcakes were beautiful and tasted amazing (they filled the “reveal” as strawberry filling which was so good and different from other places that would have done just colored buttercream)! Could not recommend them enough for any custom orders.

Mia’s was everything we hoped it would be. We visited on a Wednesday around 3 p.m. and were seated immediately. Between the three of us, we ordered four desserts and still could not finish everything. The fruit Napoleon was recommended by the staff and was worth every bite. The crème brûlée was soft, creamy, and beautifully finished with perfectly torched sugar. The chocolate cheesecake was excellent, according to our chocolate lover, and the tiramisu was as beautiful as it was generous. Our server, Martyna, was top notch—attentive, kind, funny, and professional. We were there just over an hour and appreciated the care they take with cleanliness, including cleaning the two bathrooms every hour. It is a very relaxing place where people clearly often settle in and spend time, and there is outdoor seating available as well. Each item we ordered averaged around $10. A lovely Brooklyn bakery experience. Five stars.

Absolutely Delicious! I’m the type of person that don’t like Cakes (usually it’s way too sweet and I hate icing/frosting). The plan was to order a gorgeous Instagram Worthy cake and post pictures and give it to some one. But I decided let’s just enjoy a bite. It’s so moist and rich and creamy. The Buttercream is so melting on the tongue. Chocolate mousse and fudge is paired perfectly. I plan to order more custom cakes here in the coming weeks. Thank You for Delivering not only a Picturesque Beautiful Cake but making it so scrumptious. Omg You Need to taste this Cake!

I’ve only tried their coffee so far. The flavor is really good — smooth and well-balanced. The space is cozy and the vibe is nice.. The only thing I found a bit strange is that the coffee wasn’t hot enough. It was warm, but not as hot as I would expect. If they could serve it a little hotter, it would be perfect. Overall, still a solid spot for coffee and I would come back. update I got the signature Napoleon fruit cake from Mia’s Brooklyn Bakery for my birthday, and it was delicious. The cream was rich without being too heavy, and the fresh fruit added a nice balance of sweetness and tartness. The layers also gave the cake a great variety of textures. The only slight disappointment was that the pastry layers were not as crispy and flaky as I expected. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable cake and a great choice for a birthday celebration.
